Whitefish + Smoked Salmon Chowder
By Jessica Robbins
Fresh, creamy chowder with chunks of salty smoked salmon and hearty potato is the perfect combination of flavors on a slow, snowy day.
The exact type of white fish matters little in this recipe! Use what you have on hand, as long as it's firm: lingcod, rockfish, halibut, cod, pollock! The only one I wouldn't recommend is sablefish (aka black cod); it's too soft, and will be lost in the textures of the soup.
This recipe is a great way to stretch one or two tins of coho + just 1 pound of fish into a meal for the whole family.
